In an effort to reach more Rivers State residents, the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has launched an aggressive awareness campaign targeting churches and community gatherings across the state.
The campaign represents a strategic shift towards grassroots engagement, recognizing that churches and community meetings serve as important gathering points where residents can be effectively reached with information about health insurance benefits.
RIVCHPP teams have been deployed to various churches and community centers to educate residents about available health insurance plans, enrollment procedures, and the benefits of having health coverage.
The Executive Secretary, Dr. Vetty Agala, noted that this approach has been particularly effective in reaching populations that may not have access to traditional media or digital platforms.
Early results from the campaign show increased enrollment inquiries and sign-ups, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas where access to health insurance information has traditionally been limited.
The campaign is expected to continue over the coming months as RIVCHPP works towards achieving universal health coverage across Rivers State.
