How to get covered
Get your documents ready
You need your National Identification Number (NIN). This is required for all enrollees. Also bring two passport photographs.
No NIN yet? Visit any NIMC center in Rivers State to get one. It is free.
Visit a registration point
Go to any RIVCHPP accredited Primary Health Centre, your local council secretariat, or the RIVCHPP office at Waterlines Building, Port-Harcourt-Aba Road. You can also register online.
Not sure where to go? Use our Find a Hospital page or call our care lines.
Choose a plan and pay
Pick the health plan that fits your needs and budget. Plans start from free (for vulnerable groups) to N68,500/year for premium coverage. Pay at the facility or online.
Not sure which plan? Check our health plans section or ask the enrollment officer.
Get your enrollee ID
After registration and payment, you receive your RIVCHPP enrollee ID. Keep it safe. You will present it every time you visit a facility.
Your coverage starts 60 days after enrollment. For pregnant women, it starts immediately.
Start accessing care
Visit any of the 200+ accredited facilities across Rivers State. Show your enrollee ID, see a doctor, get your medication. You only pay 15% of drug costs (or nothing at all on the Equity Plan).
If a facility says you must pay in full, call our care lines. That is not correct.
